Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting the scanner. I've installed the software onto my laptop but there's a problem. Need the driver for a PS3 eye and find out how to change the camera from my laptop camera to the PS3 in the software.

http://nuigroup.com/forums/viewthread/2921/ Following instructions from this site.

However, my house has no flat walls or floors. Everything is textured. So I'll have to wait til I have my car in order to truly start troubleshooting. I can't bike with my laptop and delicate objects :(

You and me both.   I can't wait to see the end product. Haven't decided what kind of creature mask I want to make.

Goals and Objectives

Goal: To perfect a new process for making a Latex mask by using a 3D scanner and 3D model printer while also proving the process is more efficient and less expensive.

Objectives:
  • Create a 3D Scanner using the 3D model printer, laser pointer, and PS3 camera.
  • Install the 3D scanner software
  • Scan a human face
  • Troubleshoot any problems with the scanning software or file translation into ZBrush.
  • ZBrush model the creature face
  • Create a negative model of the creature face
  • Split the object into sections so that the printer may print the pieces
  • Print the model
  • Glue the model pieces together
  • Smooth out any rough patches on the printed model
  • Create a Latex positive from the printed model
  • Paint the latex mask.
  • Collect time and money acruwed during the process.
  • Compare the time of the processes in order to evaluate which process is faster.
  • Compare the cost of the processes in order to evaluate which method is cheaper.

I forgot to upload my updates in my teacher's dropbox. :(
