A new start....

It seems I write a lot of these titles. A new beginning. Starting over. etc. All in my blogs. Hah. Well in this case I'm REALLY changing up some things.

I've changed my whole innovation. Here's my inquiry.

While creating a latex mask for Halloween or the big screen, artists can run into several walls that they would have to hurtle over to complete their mask. The first step in creating a mask is to create a life cast of the actor with alginate. They are consumed by the alginate save for a opening for breathing at either the mouth or nose. This part can be very claustrophobic for some people. With this innovation, the 3D Printed Latex Mask would instead scan the actors face, eliminating the mess and the chances for a claustrophobic attack on the actor. The method could also provide a cheaper and less wasteful way of creating the latex mask. Originally, one would have to create several casts, both positives and negatives from clay, plaster, and then finally latex. The 3D Printed Latex Mask requires only a printed negative cast via a 3D printer and the final latex mask. However, while it may seem like the limited casts would be the cheaper route, it could be that the 3D printed negative cast's cost could equal all the steps in the original process before the final latex mask.

Yep, so there you have it, my innovation.
Today I worked on the Inquiry but in the past I've talked a bit to Derric and found a few sources to use for my review of related works. Derric also showed me a link to a site where I could make my own 3D scanner with a PS3 camera.
